Earlier this month (Sept. 5-9) I did a whirlwind tour of appearances in London, Manchester and Liverpool, promoting the U.K. edition of Disrupted, which is published by Atlantic Books. These things all go by in such a blur. Half of what happened I don’t even remember. But: there is photographic evidence! I’m posting these mostly as a reminder to myself, a kind of scrapbook.
I gave a talk at the RSA in London- that’s the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. Founded in 1754. Some of the original members were in the audience.
This was a talk at Campus, a workspace in London run by Google.
BBC-2 Radio, the Steve Wright show. The guy with his back to the camera is Tim, Steve’s sidekick.
I did not play Elton John’s piano.
My babysitter for 4 days was Fran Owen from Atlantic Books. Poor Fran. But at the BBC we met a Dalek.
Outside the Steve Wright studio at BBC-2 they have a piano that once belonged to Elton John. I think he composed “Freebird” on this one.
I’ve always wanted to visit the BBC. It was everything I could have imagined. What a newsroom. What an institution. It’s right up there with Buzzfeed.
