I am writing this live from the Thinking Digital conference in Newcastle. Just saw a “band” called The Sancho Plan and they are mindblowing. Their web site is here. Hard to describe but they play electronic touch pads, making both music and video at the same time. Words fail. But they are worth checking out.

I thought you had:
1) Been fired
2) Fallen asleep
3) Found the industry in perfect shape
4) Quit
Dan, OK, I checked out the site…cool performance art no doubt…but please man, what did I say about taking it easy on the ’shrooms?
Only in music can the geeks and the stoned truly be at one with each other!
It’s all right. It ain’t the Blue Man Group, which went way past this like 15 years ago.
Nice post. See you in August.
They were great. I was in the balcony and the view ofthe darkened room with a load of faces lit by laptops followed by the performance was an experience. Have to say you were pretty good yourself today and yesterday, just watch what you say, Guardian journo’s are everywhere….
Months between posts and we get an overblown crush on a Blue Man Group copycat. What happened to the outrageous, scintillating, can’t get enough of, Dan we enjoyed for years. Its OK if the realities of a Real Job have displaced the genius of Fake Jobs, but just kill this site and end the triple fortnight downer.
Hey Dan – came to your site as I was writing about your presentation in Newcastle being one of my favourites, so was real nice to see this
Thanks for the inspiration yesterday.

The Sancho Plan
ps thanks to comments – the blue man comparisons are understandable, we feel we have more of an interest on potentials of merging animated cinema (screen-based) with live musical performance (on-stage musicians controlling every aspect of the animation). Perhaps reflected more in our upcoming work http://www.thesanchoplan.com/production.html. But we hope you are able come to a show and judge for yourselves
You a fan of the animals dan?
Because unless you are, I have no idea what you’d be doing in newcastle.
Please come to my next birthday dad.
Dan is like Jeff Lynne
Jeff Lynne twice created a band that was larger than life that subsumed his personality, captured the hearts and minds of pop music lovers everywhere, and now works mostly in the background, and people mourn when the next ELO OR Wilburys album will happen?
In the early days, he created a larger than life persona that eventually captured the hearts and minds of the blogosphere and now works mostly at Newsweek, while readers wonder when the next blogpost comparable to Fake Steve Jobs will happen.

Yes, they sound better than U2. Bono, you’re fired!
Did you see me at Notre Dame today? I rocked the house!
YAWN
wow dannyboy what an amazing post that was.
nothing to shill for from newsweek? is newsweek still published?
maybe you didn’t write fake steve jobs? that seemed to take talent, skill and a sense of humor. you have only delivered boring.
good call on the sancho plan recommendation – checked them out and they are way cool – can’t wait to see them live, that must be a totally excellent experience.
Can see the similarity with Blue Man, but they seem on a slightly different tip (I mean it was ok to have more Hip Hop acts after Grandmaster Flash wasn’t it?
)
LOL
Nice post Dan – I’ve also seen them live and is brilliant. They’re going to be big
You’re a crazy man. Music is good tho.
Check it out I’m posting a new post, on the hour, every hour, for a year!! Music posts will be at 3 PM PST

I have been making surprise appearances in last couple of days and even had Woz working for his apple salary. Just wait till I slide that benz sideways into disabled parking as I return from my creative pause.
This is also a surprise appearance.
Dude, I took three hits of purple window pane, watched the video and the stalk-eyed, fang-toothed creatures told me that if i did exactly what the voioces in my head told me to do, the world would become a better place.
If Jobs actually 100% assumes the reins again, never to let them fall from his clutches til he keels over, I will switch my iTouch for a Zune. If he returns in any capacity, it’ll be as figurehead, he more likely will be in the background and let his team do their thing with Apple.
@Will:
I will be in the background just like the subconscious: you think you are driving, but you are really not.
Twilight Zone team is already working on a new apprentice show with apple on it.
Lesson 1: Working the clutch to smokingly park effectively in no-no parking
Just got back from Amsterdam. Bad news, shrooms have been illegal since December. Good news, truffles that do the same thing, you can buy at the store. What a great place.
Speaking of working the clutch, I find this 30-second clip strangely compelling:

This is emo. Did he die? Yes he did.
Emo failed in so many aspects of his life so now he is dead. RIP Emo.

@chichi: nice video, except that it needs to smoke’n'rip to count. It is also cooler when done with a benz
)))
Dan has a new article:
http://www.newsweek.com/id/198855
Something about google genius and being little evil.
And what about my genius? Not worth your time anymore? Singing the songs of those who pay the do-re-mi?
Hm, I now see that Dan is busy with work:

Hanging out with R. Kurzweil.
Good show today, I would have been shocked and stunned if they made any announcements about upcoming tablet. No Steve today, feh, he’s got until June 30th, I keep my iTouch with the Skype.
dude, it’s time to go back to work. I know the lyrics of every single “Nine Inch Nails” song by heart.
The only strike against Palm Pre is Apple’s App store. As Ballmer once insanely danced, it’s “developers, developers, developers”, and the App store, as byzantine as it is to get approved or stay in good graces, is the new Microsoft. Android will be a distant second, PalmPre is sadly not in running. Great hardware, but without apps …
