Much love to Faddah for this one. The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain plays the theme from Shaft. I have no idea why.

They’ve also done “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and others.

I’m hiring them to play that song as my theme song for my televised speeches. I want something laid back to appeal to whitey, but also to the soul of the brother.

Of course we’ll have to replace all the Shaft words to Barack. Should be great!

“They say this cat Barack is a bad mother
SHUT YOUR MOUTH!
I’m talkin’ ’bout Barack.
THEN WE CAN DIG IT!”

Maybe they take requests? Some Lothar and the Hand People, perhaps?

We’re a nation of eccentrics here in the UK. Never ask “Why?” when we do anything.

I saw Walt Mossberg’s column in the Journal today (outsourced to someone else), and I thought to myself, “If only Fake Steve were around to light a fire under old Goatberg. What would Fake Steve have thought about the Microtards’ Seinfeld ads? God, it has been a long time since I’ve heard a good Ellison/hooker story. And where the heck has My Little Pony been?”

So, for old times’ sake, I went over to the Fake Steve blog and saw that Real Dan has decided to keep things going with a new name, but the same cutting voice. This is a bit of light in the darkness of the Impending World Economic Collapse.

I started catching up on the old entries immediately.

Thanks, Dan!!!!!
I really needed this today!

They play the theme from Shaft because it’s fun. Can’t you see it on their faces? We can use some of that joy here in the States. Bless the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.

yeah, i’m bloody friggin’ genius, aren’t i?

thanx for the mention, dan-o

for more fun, the UOGB does not only “shaft” and “smells like teen spirit,” but also —

the good, the bad & the ugly theme.

the ziggy stardust opus, “life on mars.”

“ruby”, with the kaiser chiefs

and a medley with “Fly Me to the Moon”, “Love Story (Where Do I Begin)”, “Killing Me Softly With His Song”, & “Hotel California”

yup. dem brit ukes git around. they do so much … with so little.

for even more, check their youTube channel and their official UOGB web site.

and there’s always this wonderful (tho’ not directly related to the UOGB) documentary.

it’s true. i know far too much about a hokey, miniscule hawaiin string instrument.

But think also of all the business logic, the customized apps created uniquely for you. Just look at what Facebook does to make it extremely painful for users to move. That’s a tiny taste of the cloud.lig tv izle

sohbet The tradeoff, of course, will be that you’ll sacrifice a bit of freedom in exchange for convenience. Fair deal? Maybe. But I think Stallman is on to something here
